Wiga Cosplayer - Meririn

Wigafashion: What inspire you to start your cosplay journey?

Meririn: In my first Anime convention. Fanimecon in 2009, I met many talented cosplayers, and got motivated. I formed CtrlZ productions with close friends HetChrome and Lunacy, this gave me extra motivation on continuing cosplaying until now!

Wigafashion: How your friend and family think of your cosplay interest?

Meririn: Most of my friends are cosplayers too, we really are bonded and do cosplay together! Those who are not cosplayer are cool and accept my hobby. My parents wish I could study more instead, but glad that I have a creative outlet, something I do with passion.

Wigafashion: What is the difficulties you’ve faced while cosplaying?

Meririn: Cosplaying can get uncomfortable with color contacts, heavy makeup, wig, high heels etc. I have hard time with color contacts, because my eyes are sentive. Beauty is pain, but it's all worth it in the end, it just look amazing.

Wig in Cosplay

Meririn: A wig can make all the difference for a cosplay. Choosing the right style and shade of wig can really make a cosplay go from 0 to 100. Sometimes the wig may not suit the cosplay, and I have to purchase another one. It's a big investment, but make a huge difference! It's important to purchase wigs from a trusted website with good quality wigs.

Wigafashion: In your opinion, how much further could you go forward for cosplaying?

Meririn: If I can, I'd like to keep cosplaying even after graduating college. I still have cosplays I want to do and many challenges I have yet to take on, like making intricate props, armor, wings, etc.

Meririn: The best moment is that I've made a lot of friends with other cosplayers. We constantly meeting new people in the community and everyone are unique. We get to learn so much from each other, it's just amazing.
